Clinical or Counselling Psychologist – complex care

Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work with children and young people who have complex emotional and behavioural needs across homes in Wales (nationwide).

About the employer:

The candidate appointed will be joining a leading provider of therapeutic care and education for children and young people (ages 11-18) who present with complex emotional and behavioural needs. This can include eating disorders, offending behaviour, substance abuse and sexual exploitation and harmful behaviour.

Role snapshot:

The post holder will be working from home for 50-60% of the time and where required will be travelling various homes across Wales. The candidate appointed will be able to link in with other Psychologists who can support the service in the North and South of Wales.

The successful candidate will be working alongside other Psychologists providing assessmentstherapeutic interventions and risk management. Part of the role will be to advise on the further development of services, so although the main focus will be on residential, the needs of activity services, leaving care and education will be considered going forwards, including the need for additional resources.

Contract type – permanent

Hours – Part time and full time will be considered.

Salary – up to £50,000 FTE PLUS £3600 pa car allowance

Experience required:

Candidates applying will have HCPC registration as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist and experience working with children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs either during doctoral training or post qualifying.
