Supported Living for my daughter.
On a day to day basis, what are Shire staff responsible for?
Shire staff are responsible for supporting our daughter in her flat for 15.5 hours per day with daily living skills, community activities and social engagements. Our daughter participates in extreme sports which Shire staff supervise.
Are Shire improving the quality of your daughter’s life?
The staff are able to give her a sense of independence in her own environment by providing daily living skills so yes. She is happy with Shire’s involvement.
Are you happy with your current staff team?
The team is made up of several ladies of varying ages and abilities. Each has their own way of working with our daughter, but they all have kindness, caring natures, patience, understanding, are keen to learn, and most of all a great sense of humour, which is absolutely necessary in our case! Therefore, it goes without saying our family are extremely happy with the team we have.
What’s the communication like with Matt Barton, your main point of contact?
I believe we have extremely positive communication. He is always courteous and understanding. He has vast knowledge of his profession and I can always rely on him to deliver. He is always professional but with that, has a brilliant sense of humour which helps so much in this business!
Would you recommend Shire. If so, why?
I would not hesitate to recommend Shire due to the dedication we have received from everybody.
